This Made me Think

..."and then it was winter".

You know, time has a way of moving quickly and catching you unaware of the passing years.
It seems like it was only yesterday that I was young, just married, and embarking on my new life with my mate.  but yet in a way, it seems like eons ago, and now I wonder where all the years went...
I know that I lived them all...because I have memories...
And I have glimpses of how it was back then and of all my hopes and dreams...
But, here it is...the winter of my life and it catches me by surprise!... How did I get here so fast?
Where did the years go and where did my youth go?...
I remember well...seeing older people through the years and thinking that those older people were years away from me and that winter was so far off that I could not fathom it or imagine fully what it would be like...
But here it is...my friends are retired and getting gray...they move slower, and I see an older person when I look at them now.  Lots are in better shape than me...but, I see the great change...
Not like the ones that I remember who were young and vibrant...but, like me, their age is beginning to show, and we are now those older folks that we used to see and never thought we'd be.
Each day now, I find that just getting a shower is a real target for the day!  And taking a nap is not a treat anymore...it's mandatory!  Cause if I don't take one on my own free will...I just fall asleep where I sit!
And so, now I enter into this new season of my life, unprepared for all the aches and pains and the loss of strength and ability to go and do things that I wish I had done but never did!!
But at least I know, that though the "winter" has come, and I'm not sure how long it will last...this I know...that when it's over...it's over!  Yes , I have regrets...there are things I wish I hadn't done and things I should have done, but indeed, there are many things I'm happy to have done.  It's all in a lifetime...
So, if you're not in your "winter" yet...let me remind you, as some of the older folks I knew reminded me years ago...that it will be here faster than you think.  How right they were!  So, whatever you would like to accomplish in your life, please do it quickly!  Don't put things off too long!!
Life goes by quickly.  So, do what you can today...,
as you can never be sure whether this is your "winter" or not!
You have no promise that you will see all the seasons of your life...so, live for today, so you'll be ready when your "winter" comes.
Say all the things that you want your loved ones to remember...and hope they appreciate and love you for all the worthwhile things you have said to them in the years past!!
'Life is a gift to you. The way you live your life is your gift to those who come after.'
BE HAPPY!  BE THANKFUL FOR YOUR GIFT OF LIFE GOD HAS GIVEN YOU!
PRAY TO HIM...,
AND DO GOOD THINGS TO BE REMEMBERED...!
 BE READY FOR YOUR WINTER...!
SO ENJOY TODAY...!
AND GO DO SOMETHING RIGHT...!  SOMETHING FUN...!!!

Another Busy Day

I am very busy with all the bidding documents for the procurement of Janitorial Services and Provision of Temporary Support Personnel for the calendar year 2011 for the Philippine Ports Authority - PMO Cagayan de Oro. Whew!

I try hard to still have the time to smile and time to care... after all.. all these "busy-ness" shall come to pass but the good you give to friends, office mates, and acquaintances will last forever.

I wanna leave you with this message:

"So make us know the shortness of our lives,

that we may gain wisdom in our hearts.  - Psalm 90:12

Let's be a blessing to others.

Lucky Me

I attended our office's Christmas Party last night held at teh Port Manger's Quarters. it was a lucky night for me because I won the grand prize -- washing machine with spinner. Almost everyone in the party cheered and got envy. wink.

Last December 2008, I was also lucky because I won the grand prize of flat television set with DVD player.

Can I get lucky too if I bet on lotto?

You bet.

My blog

Hello, welcome to my blog. This is my first post and i have mixed emotions.
First, I feel happy because I love writing my heart and mind out and share them with friends and acquaintances. i love sharing the wonder of life and miracles that I experience everyday.  I was planning to have a blog even before but oftentimes this dream is overtaken by events. Thanks to my best friend Shirl who became an instrument. My dream was reborn the night of November 13 to 14, Saturday to Sunday (literally, we were not able to sleep) We used up the 10:00PM to 3:00AM just talking and talking.  My meeting with her was God's plan, I believe. She made my dreams of having freedom of time come to life. She was living my dream. Soon, I will write here what really happened.

Second, I feel scared. As I am writing this,  I'm always checking my grammar and spelling because I was already used by the "txt" spelling. I know you know what I mean. Gosh! I have to "mind" what I'm writing already. So please bear with me.

Lastly, I feel excited because I have many things to post already. My poems, write-ups and other stuffs have spaces already aside from the pages of my diary. I have great visions already. Jasper will be happy with this because he has lots of ideas and I know he would like to post them too. I am excited for my 3 musketeers, Jethro (5), Jerald (3) and Jeoffre (3 months). This blog is all about the jj naranjo's. I am so proud of my family.

Hope you will like what we will be sharing here. Do not hesitate to make comments.
